Get Ready to Roll Up Your Sleeves
By Frank Kelly, SVP, OperationsI am eagerly anticipating the 2012 CASRO Online Research Conference getting underway this week in Las Vegas. As part of the , I am delighted with the agenda we’ve put together for this year’s conference.
This event is meant to be a gathering for hard-core research methodologists (a badge I wear proudly), and this year’s will feature an assortment of true heavyweights in the industry. Chief Research Officers from nearly all the major sample providers, as well as senior executives of full-service research companies and end user companies will participate. It’s a roll-up-your-sleeves meeting, where participants leverage their considerable expertise and years of practice to tackle the industry’s operational challenges.
One thing I like best is the focus on practical solutions. Because papers are submitted beforehand, participants have the opportunity to study them in order to ask educated questions during panel discussions. The conference presents a rare and valuable opportunity to dive into and debate the issues all of the companies have been struggling with. We all come away with better insight, as well as ideas for how to do things better.
For the first time, this year’s conference includes a panel of survey respondents. I look forward to hearing directly “from the horse’s mouth” about what engages and what frustrates them with online surveys.
Having been involved in CASRO for many years, I see this conference as the culmination of years of collaborative effort across the industry. Each year, the agenda has gotten stronger and the quality of contributors higher. And kudos to Bob Fawson and Olivier de Gaudemar, who did an excellent job as co-chairs of the event.
See you there.
